Born in Leningrad (St. Petersburg). In 1995, she graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet. While still a student, she became a trainee at the Mariinsky Theatre, and in 1996, she made her debut at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, where she continues to perform as a guest ballerina. Diana Vishneva's repertoire includes works by the most significant choreographers of our time: John Neumeier, Mauro Bigonzetti, Mats Ek, Hans van Manen, Jean-Christophe Maillot, Carolyn Carlson, Ohad Naharin, Paul Lightfoot and Sol León, Martha Graham, and others. She has presented three solo programs of contemporary choreography: "Beauty in Motion", "Dialogues", and "Faces". In 2010, on her initiative, the Ballet Arts Support Foundation was established; in 2017, the Context studio was opened on New Holland Island in St. Petersburg. In 2022, based on the Context festival, Diana Vishneva founded a dance company of the same name.
Diana Vishneva is a laureate of the State Prize of Russia, recipient of the Best Female Dancer in Europe award, six Golden Mask awards, the "Divine" Prize, the Benois de la Danse, "Ballerina of the Decade", and many other honors.
